Before Iron Man 2 explodes in theaters in May 7, one of the most predictable parts of this film is Don Cheadle’s replacement of Terence Howard as James Rupert Rhodes a.k.a. War Machine. It is heavily hinted that Jim Rhodes would don the comics-inspired armor as seen in the first “Iron Man.” And how do you make this sequel expand, even bigger and better? It’s not just doubling the essence of Iron Man itself, and War Machine takes care of that charge.
What we’re complementing here is a story bound character, a comic book superhero packed with fire power from the vast Marvel Comics Universe. First came to life in Iron Man #118 (Jan. 1979) by David Michelinie, John Byrne and Bob Layton. Base on comics, he’s a sustaining character in Vol. 1 of Iron Man, where Rhodes later assumed the responsibility of Iron Man when Stark succumbs into alcoholism in issue # 170 (May 1983), and done it again following Stark’s supposed death in issue # 284 (Sept. 1992), and subsequent to Stark’s return to the role of Iron Man, “Rhodey” continued to be War Machine and later made comics solo series debut. Well, this proves to be the features to be waited when time will come that War Machine will have his own movie.
Based on Marvel Comics, “Rhodey” is an experienced soldier trained in armed and unarmed combat. Pilot and aviation engineer. Powered suit of armor grants: Super-strength, Supersonic flight at Mach 3, Energy Repulsors and variety of offensive and defensive weapons including Missiles and Laser Blasters. Oh boy, let’s just look forward to Jon Favreau packing these fire powers in his movie come the day of invading the theaters. Iron Man plus War Machine equals an explosion never seen before, so WATCH IT HERE NOW ONLINE. Wow, Ka Boom, Ka Pow!
